Anna Ruth Snyder, 91, formerly of Jane Lew, WV, passed away on July 5, 2013 at Heartlands Senior Living Village, Ellicott City, MD where she had resided for the past three years. She was married 71 years to Edward G. Snyder who survives.
She was the daughter of the late A. P. Swisher and Iza Ramsburg Swisher of Berlin, WV. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, John Edward Snyder, husband of Barbara of Lancaster, Pa, and a daughter, Donna Mealey, of Baltimore, MD, four grandchildren, Jennifer Snyder Thomas, wife of Matthew of Macungie, PA, John Wesley Snyder II, husband of Michelle of Merrimack, NH, Dale Scott Mealey, husband of Susan of Towson, MD, and Karen Mealey Simmons, wife of Jason of Callaway, MD, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Jean Stoneking and husband Jim of South Charleston, WV, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Snyder was employed for several years as Office Manager of the former Jane Lew Water Commission, now the Jane Lew Public Service District. She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Jane Lew where she served as treasurer, pianist, and substitute pianist for many years. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star at Good Hope, and a member and past President of the Jane Lew Homemaker’s Club. She also played in the former Jane Lew Kitchen Band for many years. She was the valedictorian of the Weston High School class of 1939.
A memorial service will be held in the Heartlands Chapel 12 o’clock July 14, 2013.
