On October 2, 2019, Dennis Hamilton Rouse Sr. (“Denny”), beloved husband of Dorothy Elizabeth Rouse for 54 years, passed away in his home peacefully with his wife by his side. He was born May 8, 1945, in Catonsville, MD, the son of Hamilton Wells Rouse Jr. and Agnes Mary McCauley. He grew up in a loving home with his parents and his younger sister, Dorothy Lee Sell, who he loved very much.

Upon graduation from Catonsville High School, he began his long career as a Store Manager for various grocery store chains in Baltimore and married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Elizabeth Rouse. Soon after marriage, the couple had two children, Denise Lynn Rouse-Meekins and Dennis Hamilton Rouse Jr. He was always a very devoted husband and father who loved to spend time with his children taking them hiking in the woods, swimming in the ocean, riding dirt bikes, sleigh riding, and lake fishing.

He enjoyed traveling especially taking road trips with his wife and parents. Some of his favorite trips were to Mount Saint Helens, Big Bear, Death Valley, Hawaii, Lag Vegas, and Reno. He was an avid reader and coin collector who loved to dabble in the stock market and provide sound financial advice to family and friends. He was also well known for his witty banter and dry sense of humor to all who knew him.

In his later years, he loved being Pappy to his three grandchildren, Hayden Renee Rouse, Riley Elizabeth Meekins, and Matthew Logan Meekins. He had a beautiful bond with each of them and they loved him dearly. He is also survived by his cousin, Ronnie Meyers who was more like a brother to him.
