On June 9, 2024, Dorothy B. Hall died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Catonsville, MD. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank M. Hall, Sr. and was also preceded in death by her son David T. Hall, grandson Jeffrey A. Hall, as well as, her sister Claire Weaver, and brothers Thomas Buser and John Buser. She is survived by her sons, F. Markey Hall, Patrick H. Hall (Kathy), John D. Hall (Lori), Michael J. Hall (Kathy) and daughter-in-law S. Lynn Hall.

Dot was affectionately known as Momma Hall to her grandchildren: Jennifer (Zak), Christine (Jim), Andy (Tracy), Erin (Alejandro), Matthew (Rebecca), Kevin (Laura), Alexandra (Scott), Stephen (Jade), Brandon (Sarah), Sean, Kaleigh, and her great-grandchildren: Aisley, Kelsey, Jacob, Nathan, Brooke, Auggie, David, Cora, Claire, James and Wesley.

Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, especially, her nieces Nancy Weber (Ron) and Trish Shafer (Brian) and their families who were always so special to her and took such good care of her over the years.

She was 100 days shy of her 100th birthday! Dot was the matriarch of her family and a strong, independent and loving person. She grew up in Baltimore and then spent the next 75 years of her life in Catonsville. Family was the most important thing to her. She raised 5 boys which still surprises people today. She made sure we experienced all Baltimore had to offer, such as, the Baltimore Zoo, the Conservatory, the Baltimore Museum of Art, Hutzler’s Tea Room Downtown and the movies downtown to see the Sound of Music and Mary Poppins.

She was an active member of St. Agnes Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Hunting Hills Swim Club, Bridge Club, Prayer Groups and Mount Saint Joseph’s Mother’s Club, as well as a Cub Scout Den Leader.  She enjoyed dinners at Rolling Road Golf Club, MSJ trips to New York to see the Broadway Shows and various other trips and cruises around the country and Europe.

Everyone who knew Momma Hall loved her. She smiled with her eyes and knew when to say something and when just a touch was all that was needed. She loved her wine, she loved her friends. She loved her iPad and people were always fascinated that she had one for someone who was in their mid-90s. They couldn't believe that she was also on Facebook and just loved her email.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph’s Monastery, 3801 Old Frederick Road at Monastery Avenue, Baltimore MD 21229 on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11 am, where visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
