Paul Chambers, 94, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Margene and daughter, Beth on November 6, 2023 in Ellicott City, MD where he resided for the past 6 years. Paul was born on March 3, 1929 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.
He married Margene Flannery on June 2, 1956. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. The couple has 5 children: Mary Jo (Gary) Letera, Terry (Sean) Muldoon, Paul (Silke) Chambers, Jr., Tommy Chambers, & Beth (Brian) Connelly.
Prior to living in Ellicott City, MD, Paul spent his life in Youngstown, Ohio from the age of 6. He graduated from East High School in 1947. Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954, then attended Youngstown State University. He was Vice President of Phoenix Electric Company for 26 years. Upon retirement, he became president & owner of Chambers Industrial Products, Inc. for 22 years.
Paul was an avid Cardinal Mooney High School and University of Notre Dame football fan. He loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities especially football games at Stow High School & Walsh University. He was a member of the Youngstown Rotary Club & a former president of East High School Golden Bears Hall of Fame.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Margene and their five children, 12 grandchildren: Matt (Vanessa) Letera, Adam Letera, David (Jen) Letera, Abby (Hagen) Hearn, Danny (Mary Kate) Muldoon, Sarah Muldoon, Paul Chambers III, Megan (Andrew) Miller, Zach Chambers, Regan Chambers, Patrick Connelly & Moira Connelly. They also have 10 greatgrandchildren: Molly, Jake, Rylie, Miles, Henry, Grady and Nora Letera, Matthew and Delaney Muldoon and Victoria Chambers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Ella (Scanlon) Chambers; siblings, John Chambers, Mary Harris, Bob Chambers, Helen Lektorich, Ed Chambers, Betty Chambers, Janet Lyons, Pat Van Arsdale, & Dorothy Chambers.
Visitation will take place at 10 am on November 18, 2023 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman, Ohio followed by a funeral mass at 11 am. His ashes will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio designated for military veterans.
A memorial mass will take place at their present parish Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ellicott City on December 27, 2023 at 10 am.
