Thomas Farrell Menton

Thomas Farrell Menton, 59, of Ellicott City, Maryland died suddenly on January 13, 2024. Tom was born on May 1, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland, and is predeceased by his parents, Raymond Dennis Menton, Jr., and Ann Hughes Menton. After graduating from Centennial High School in 1982, Tom went on to study Biology at Mount St. Mary’s University. There he met the love of his life, Janet Curley. Tom and Janet were married on November 11, 1989.

Tom attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and graduated in 1990 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Tom became a beloved Howard County dentist and owner of Menton Family Dental Care. He took tremendous pride in providing his patients with excellent care and kindness for more than 30 years.

Tom was a remarkable husband, father, son, brother and friend. Tom devoted his life and love to his family and community. He was unfailingly generous and loyal. His quick wit and laughter were infectious and we all felt better in his presence. Tom adored his wife Janet, and the family they built together was his greatest source of pride.

Tom developed strong friendships through the many stages of life: childhood in Dunloggin, college at the Mount, family life in Howard County, Gettysburg and Clemson trips, golf at Cattail Creek. He cherished the many friendships he formed through the years. When Tom wasn’t enjoying time with his family at home, he loved traveling with his wife, children and close friends.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Janet Curley Menton; his children, Lindsay Ann Tower (Kammler), Joseph Curley Menton, and Edward John “Ned” Menton; granddaughter Darby Ann Tower; siblings Cully Menton Veal (Greg), Robert Garrett Menton (Paula), Maureen Menton Doetzer (Bob), Jane Curley Hogge (Bryan), Robert Edward Curley (Lynn); mother-in-law Jane C. Kimmel; and his 16 nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 22, at St. Marks Catholic Church, 30 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville MD.
