Timothy Kevin Michels

On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, in Baltimore, MD, Timothy K. Michels, loving husband of Sharon A. Michels, and dear father to Jennifer, Sean, and Caitlin Michels, passed away at the age of 60. Tim Michels was the dedicated son to the late Joseph T. & Barbara R. Michels, and is survived by his three siblings, Joseph Michels, Jr., Lisa Shadid, and Suzanne Michels, as well as many nieces and nephews. Tim attended St. Paul’s School, and then went on to The University of Notre Dame. He studied law at the University of Baltimore and practiced as an attorney in the state of Maryland for over 30 years.

Tim was an avid fan of Notre Dame, especially on football Saturdays in the fall. He also was not shy to share the fact that he took the Notre Dame lacrosse team to varsity level or that he still holds records for most goals saved in a game. He dedicated his time to coaching basketball and lacrosse at St. Mark School, Mount de Sales Academy, and Catonsville’s Lacrosse Program. Tim also enjoyed volunteering his time with various charities across the Baltimore area.

His love of his family, music, sports, and dogs was infectious to everyone around him. Tim and his wife Sharon enjoyed traveling up the East Coast to visit their children in Virginia, Baltimore, and New York City. The loving couple also loved spending time relaxing at the beach, where they had planned to retire together.

Tim fought a long, valiant battle with a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma over the past three years, never once complaining. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 14th from 4:00-7:00pm at Candle Light Funeral Home at 1835 Frederick Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, at 10:00am at the chapel of St. Mark’s Parish, at 30 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the American Red Cross in Tim’s honor.
