Agnes Helen (Novotny) Meyer, of Charlestown Retirement Community, Catonsville, Md, passed away at the age of 88 at her residence on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Agnes was born October 23, 1931, to John Otto Novotny and Helen Veronica Logue in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Catholic High School of Baltimore, Md, in 1948. She married Theodore Louis Meyer on January 9, 1954 and raised three sons together; Stephen, Michael and T.J in Clarksville, MD. Agnes lived in Clarksville for 35 years, and worked at W.R. Grace and Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. She and Ted moved to Ocean Pines, Berlin, Md, in 1994, and then to Odenton, Md in 2005. Agnes moved to Charlestown Retirement Community, Catonsville, Md, in 2018.

Agnes had a passion for life, and touched many people with her humor and spirit. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings of any kind with lots of food. She was an avid Mahjong and Bridge player, and was just as competitive at Skip Bo. Agnes was a true people person, known for her outgoing personality, warm smile, and willingness to chat.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Ted and grandson Michael. She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Susan), Michael (Charlene Peters) and T.J. (Cindy), her sister Geraldine (Novotny) Russell, and seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Agnes will be laid to rest with Ted at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, in Crownsville, MD April 24, 2020.
