Alvin Richard Pivar

Alvin Richard Pivar was born January 26th, 1928 in Baltimore, MD. Al passed away on February 13th, 2018. Al was the loving husband of Mary Pivar, dedicated father to Lisa, Michael and Stuart Pivar and a devoted Stepfather to Steve, Bruce, and Doug Whitcomb and Julie Yates.
Al grew up in Highland Town, MD. Al graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and earned his degree in Speech Pathology from The University of Maryland. Al joined the United States Army during World War II, but with the wars end was discharged soon after. Al made a lifelong career in Real Estate while raising his family in Baltimore and later Columbia, MD.
Al loved ballroom dancing and was interested in maritime activities of all kinds. Al worked on a tugboat, owned several sailboats and enjoyed being around ships his whole life. Al was an avid photographer, quick witted and always ready with a joke.
Al is survived by his loving wife Mary Pivar of 32 years, his brother Malcolm, daughter Lisa and her daughters Deana Spence and Melody Robinson, son Michael and his wife Cindy and children Nicholas & Jennifer, and his son Stuart and his wife Isabela.
