Audrey Ruth Rodgers Tinsley, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on July 11, 2021 in Front Royal, Virginia.  She was the daughter of Lola Audrey Sillings Rodgers and Harry Bell Rodgers, originally of Mt. Solon, Virginia.  Audrey was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nelson Lee Tinsley.  Also, predeceased by three brothers. (Harold, Carlisle and Merle).

Audrey was born on April 27, 1922 in Eccleston, Maryland, in the Green Spring Valley, where her father was the Dairy Manager at Burnside Farm.  The family later moved to Reisterstown, where Audrey graduated from Franklin High School in 1941.  While working at the Rationing Board in Pikesville in 1945, she met her future husband, Nelson Tinsley, a returning soldier and D-Day veteran, who was seeking a pair of shoes.  Audrey was at the desk and provided the ration stamp.  The two were married on March 22, 1947 and happily spent the next 61 years together.

Audrey’s family was the center of her life.  She was the beloved mother of Deborah Tinsley Cosby (husband Richard) of Linden, Virginia, Sharon Harris (husband John) of Catonsville, Maryland, and four grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Colin Harris (Kara Harris), Jaime Carino (Miguel Carino), Amanda Cosby (James Biskey), and Olivia Cosby (Dennis Fitzgerald).  She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Diego Carino, Dominic Carino, Davin Carino, Briana Harris, and George Nelson Biskey.

The family will receive friends at Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, Md., on Monday, July 19, from 11 a.m. – 12, with services following.  Interment will follow at 1:15 p.m. in the Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Ave., Pikesville, Md.
