Barbara B. (Borell) Allen

Barbara Borell Allen, age 73, residing in Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away July 6, 2020.
She is survived by her children: Hans Allen (wife, Sarah) and Anna Bowers (husband, Christopher); grandchildren: Harper, Henry, Hayden and Hannah Allen, Andrew Maras, and Benjamin, Joshua and Elisa Bowers; her sister Stephanie Stoss; nephew Christian Maniscalco; niece Danelle DiLibero (husband, Brian); grandnieces Gina and Josie Maniscalco and grandnephew Frank DiLibero.
Barbara was born in New York City in November 1946 to Stephan and Elisabeth Borell. Barbara was raised by her parents in Astoria, NY with her younger sister, Stephanie.
On June 7, 1975, Barbara married Jonathan Richard Allen, who preceded her in death in 2003. Barbara and Jonathan were married at Christ Episcopal Church in Columbia, Maryland.
Barbara was an avid "thrift shopper", a lover of all things in nature, especially birds and wildflowers and thoroughly enjoyed watching British television series'. She enjoyed many forms of art and poetry and kept many of her favorite quotes, either clipped from magazines or recorded in her journals. Barbara was once a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Ellicott City, MD and Holy Cross Orthodox Christian Church in Linthicum, MD.
Donations can be made to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, in memory of Barbara Allen. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Candle Light Funeral Home.
