Betty Geraldine (Harpster) Macdaniel

August 26, 1925 — February 24, 2015

Betty MacDaniel, age 89, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on August 26, 1925. She was raised by her late parents Arnold & Sarah Harpster on a farm in Illinois.  She joined the Army in 1951 where she met the love of her life, the late Allen West MacDaniel known to her as "Mac". They were married for 54 glorious years! Betty was a talented writer. She won a creative writing award from WBAL for her Twilight Zone TV script "Future Exit". She also enjoyed music and could play many instruments including piano, violin, guitar, and banjo! As many people know one of her special gifts was oil painting! Many family members have one of her paintings in their homes. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman. "Her children arise and call her blessed". Betty was a beautiful and wise woman with unconditional love for all and a true love for God. She never lost her sweet nature, sense of humor, or her abilitly to encourage others. Her entire life was the best example of a true Christian who inspired so many.

Betty leaves loving memories to be cherished by her sister Kathleen Gaddis and husband Ronald, her daughter Anne Schorr and husband Steve, her daughter Teresa Leflett and husband Faron, her daughter Sandy Valenstein and husband Rusty. Grandchildren, Brad Harned and Juliana, April Harned, Rachael Smith and husband Jeremai , Sarah  Winter and husband Craig, Eric Valenstein and wife Erica, Shane Valenstein and wife Lauren, and Jessica Valenstein. Great grandchildren, Lexi, Logan, and Landon Harned, Jacob and Jesse Smith, Sienna and Michael Winter, and Brooklyn Valenstein. She was the beloved wife of the late Allen West MacDaniel and dear mother-in-law to the late Tony Harned.
