Betty Ruth (Green) Simpler

Betty Ruth Simpler, born on July 3, 1928, departed peacefully at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson Maryland on December 20, 2015 following a long illness. Betty is the beloved wife of the late William Gordon Simpler, Sr. Devoted mother of William "Gordon" Simpler, Jr. (Teresa), Gary Lee Simpler (Dana) and Warren "Keith" Simpler (Mary). Loving grandmother of Erin Kellett, Phillip, Laura, Jordan, Benjamin, Alexandra and Addison Simpler.
Betty grew up in West Baltimore as the only child of Sheldon and Ruth Green before moving to Randallstown. After her husband died in 1969, Betty raised her three sons and worked in administrative positions at London Fog. She enjoyed square dancing, movies and was active in the Parents Without Partners organization. Betty had a passion for animals and always had pets in her household. In addition to dogs and cats, Betty kept a terrarium with frogs and toads, and raised an Albino African Pygmy Hedgehog.
Betty overcame many challenges in her life and displayed grace and humor in the face of adversity. She was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
