On September 16, 2017, Bonnie L. Toney (nee Kerwood), beloved wife of the late Arthur Lee Toney, loving mother of Tina Toney, Karen Houser and Charlyne Cortez and her husband (William), cherished grandmother of John Marcus Pleta and his wife Tori, Joshua Lee Toney, Jeremy Keith Toney, Dylan Michael Kammerer, dear great grandmother of Ari Myles Pleta, Naomi Shoshanna Pleta, Amiela Mahal Pleta and Eliana Mai Pleta, loving sister of Vicki Shearer. Predeceased by her son Brian Keith Toney.
"The main thing our mother wanted out of this life was to have a family and she had 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She loved music, dancing, thrift shopping, playing the slots and her dog. Mom loved going to the beach in North Carolina and eating fresh seafood. She looked forward to all family gatherings for holidays and special events. Mom had a very big, loving and giving heart. She helped people in time of need; family, friends and others. She gave to charities including Saint Jude, Toys for Tots and food banks. Mom and Dad met in DC and fell in love instantly. She raised her children in Maryland and loved roller skating, jump roping and bicycling with them. When she made friends it was for life, and they always had fun times including parties, concerts, dinner and camping. For the most part, Mom was a stay at home mom, but after her children were older she worked as a switchboard operator including the older ones that actually had plugs. Mom loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart, soul and being. Mom was born in Front Royal, Virginia and lived in DC, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The last two and a half years she lived with her youngest daughter and second grandson in Catonsville, Maryland."
Dear God in Heaven,
I say a special Mother’s Day Prayer
May my Mother always be healthy.
May she always know happiness.
May she always find peace.
Lord through you, may she find fulfillment and everlasting joy.
May she never walk alone or be afraid.
May she never find a reason to complain, be sad or depressed,
but always find something to be thankful for and a reason to smile.
May she always know that she’s the spirit, soul and foundation of the family,
and in knowing this may she instill love, faith, and forgiveness in each of its members.
May she know she’s a beautiful, wonderful person with the ability to do anything she so DESIRES.
Lord, help us to make her proud, and help us to remind her we love her every day in every way.
LORD THANK YOU FOR HEARING THIS SPECIAL PRAYER
AND THANK YOU FOR SENDING US OUR MOM!
