Brenda Craddock Jenkins

Brenda Craddock Jenkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 83.

Brenda was born in Philadelphia on April 8, 1940, to Naomi and Theodore Craddock. She had one sister, Lorraine.

After attending Philadelphia High School for Girls, Brenda received a bachelor's degree in science in Biology from Elizabethtown College. She resettled in Philadelphia after graduation.

In 1964, Brenda was married to Ellsworth "Skip" Jenkins, and began building her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to four children, Susan, David, Marc, and Matthew. She was also a cherished grandmother to three grandchildren- Safiya, Ryann and Sierra.

Brenda spent many years in service to others in need, as a special education teacher at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Spruance Elementary School, as well as numerous charities- supporting those in hospice care and victims of domestic abuse.

Brenda was also an avid traveler, visiting many countries during her life. She particularly enjoyed traveling with her cousin, Sandra Robbins, during retirement.

Of all her pursuits, family was at the core of who she is. She recently said "my most important job and greatest joy was raising my children."

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brenda's honor to the Benevolent Care Fund of Charlestown Senior Living , which provides assistance with the health care and living expenses of Charlestown residents whose personal financial resources, including their entrance deposit, have been depleted. The fund offers peace of mind to all who live at Charlestown.

Family & friends may gather at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel for a Catholic Mass beginning at 10:00am. Guests may begin to arrive at 9:30am.
