Carol (Palumbo) Lazur

Rita Carol Lazur (nee Palumbo), 80, of Catonsville, Maryland, died peacefully at home May 7, 2017, surrounded by several family members .

Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, Carol made Catonsville her home since 1962 with her beloved husband of 62 years, Emil. She was a lifelong homemaker and devoted mother to her 5 children, Stephen Lazur (Trudy), Ann Marie Patke (Dan), Catherine King (David), Lisa Lazur and Eric Lazur.  She also leaves behind 5 beautiful granddaughters, Ashley Johnson (Rob), Rachel Hunton (Jeremy), Rita Whitney (Whit), Allison Lazur and Amanda Lazur, and 3 adored great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Jackson and Baby Whitney.  She was the loving sister of Diana Roberts and the late Adrienne Morris.

Carol devoted much of her time and talent to her church, counting the weekly offerings and volunteering for various organizations including Our Daily Bread and the Shawl Ministry.  She was passionate about her crocheting and spent countless hours personalizing her creations for family, friends, loved ones and anyone in need of a smile.

Visitation will be at the Candle Light Funeral Home on Frederick Road in Catonsville on Thursday, May 11 from 4 to 7 pm.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the chapel of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church on Melvin Avenue in Catonsville on Friday, May 12 at 10 am. There will be a private interment at a later date.
