Carol Terry (Schnider) Schaefer

Carol Terry Schaefer (nee Schnider), 62, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 with her devoted husband by her side.  She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July of this year and despite treatment, Carol lost her battle.

She graduated from Baltimore City Community College to pursue her career as a hygienist, spending 26 years at the same dental office in Howard County.  It was there that she developed many long lasting relationships with her co-workers and patients, with whom she was happy to call her friends.
Carol loved to travel with her husband and family, all over the world.  It seems no matter where they went, Carol not only would make new friends but, she would run into old ones as well...even half way around the world!

She shared a love of aviation with her husband and joined him at their flight school, Phoenix Aviation, out of Martin State Airport until they both retired in 2010.
Carol was a devoted wife to her love, "Charlie" Schaefer.  Beloved sister to Ellen Wess (Bernard Wess) and loving step-mother to the late Sarah Cavicchio (Louis) and "Chuck" Schaefer (Beth).  She was a proud and adoring Grandmother to Emily Cavicchio and "Charlie" & "Bobby" Schaefer.  Carol's devotion extended to her neice, Jennifer Chung (Mike) and nephew Philip Wess (Bridget) and their children; Mason Chung, Jackson Wess, Berkley Wess and Kingston Wess.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Mischa and Evelyn Schnider.
A public memorial gathering will be held at Candle Light Funeral Home on Frederick Road in Catonsville on Friday, October 23 starting at 11am.
