Christina (Copoulos) Panagakos

On Saturday, October 16, 2021, Christina Panagakos (nee: Copoulos) passed away at her South Carolina home; she was 88. Born Tuesday, November 29, 1932 in Frederick, Maryland to the late Michael and Bertha Copoulos, Christina later moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she met and married George Panagakos on June 15, 1952.  The two had four cherished girls over the years and celebrated 69 years of marriage in the summer of 2021.

For a short time after graduating cosmetology school Christina worked as a hair dresser. Additionally, she worked seasonally for H&R Block for 20 years. But her main focus was being a homemaker to her daughters and George. She created a warm and welcoming space for not only her family, but the neighborhood kids who will always remember her as “Ms. Chris.”  Christina valued family and enjoyed spending her time visiting with her mother, sisters, brothers, and attending family reunions in Frederick, Maryland. In November 2020, Christina packed up her Betty Boop collection and all of her unicorn memorabilia and she and George moved to Little River, SC in November 2020.

Christina leaves behind her husband, George Panagakos; her children, Lori Panagakos-Dishon (Lonnie), Donna Fenner (Mark), and Stacy Hall; her grandchildren, Georgie & Tyler Parton, Erin Jaeger, Brandi DiFatta, Brian Jaeger, Eric Fenner, and Stephanie Levis; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patti Jaeger, and siblings James Copoulos, John Copoulos, Athena Roach, Frances Myers.

Funeral service will be held at the Greek Orthodox Chapel, 5917 Windsor Mill Road Baltimore, Maryland 21207 on Friday. October 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Interment immediately following at the Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
