Connie Lee Knaus Hafen passed away at the age of 70 on October 11, 2015. She has been a long time resident of Catonsville and in recent years waged a valiant battle against cancer. Connie was the first born of Archie and Marian Knaus on August 8, 1945 in Magna, Utah.
She attended Brigham Young University and majored in early childhood education. She married Steven Hafen and they had 6 children.
She enjoyed gardening; canning fruits and vegetables and baking her own bread. She enjoyed country western dancing for many years. When her children were young she enjoyed making their clothes and quilts.
For many years Connie was a full-time mother and caregiver.
Connie was dedicated in providing a happy and healthy, warm loving environment for her family and friends. After raising her family, she became a licensed esthetician, and eventually opened her own salon where she practiced for 25 years.
Connie is survived by: her sisters Sandee, Vicki and Lenni; her children Nenett, Bret, Keri (Richard), Tyler (Theresa) and Jason; grandchildren JC, Cassi, Paige, Boulden, Camren and Lilian.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Marian, brother Denny and daughter Cristi.
A public Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Candle Light Funeral Home on Frederick Rd. in Catonsville, from 4:00-6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to The Kennedy Kriedger Institute which she had much love and respect for in the attempts they made to assist Cristi.
Whether you knew her as: Mom, Grandma (Gma) or Friend. I think we all can agree, Connie was: Compassionate, Nurturing, Fun, with a great sense of humor and most of all, a wonderful example of Strength for all of us.
