Daniel Stanley Cieslowski of Catonsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2024 with his beloved wife and dog by his side. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be so dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased in death by his adored wife Janet, his son Rithy Kredell, his sister Marian Carmen, and his parents Stanley and Hedwig Cieslowski.  He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Anne Kredell; his sons, Andrew Cieslowski and Kevin and Phavann Kredell; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Rocco Ricci; and his grandsons, Daniel and Joseph Ricci. Originally from New Britain, Conn., Dan graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Catholic University of America, where he met his wife Janet. They settled in Maryland to be close to his work as a Naval Architect for the Department of Defense where he spent the entirety of his career designing vessels such as the Hydrofoil and the Seawolf nuclear submarine. He was greatly respected by his peers and colleagues and testified multiple times before Congressional committees.

However, his greatest impact was as a husband, father, and friend.  He truly adored his family and was a role model for his five children and two grandchildren on what it meant to be kind, ethical, a loving husband, a true friend, a good man, and wonderful father. He never missed a soccer game or school play and his sense of humor was legendary.

Because Dan was a big believer in the value of education, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Charlestown Scholarship Fund .

Services will be held on Nov. 23 at Our Lady of Angels, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville. MD 21228.  Visitation from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. and a repast to follow.
