David Grafton

David Grafton, 71, of Catonsville MD passed away on Oct. 4, 2016 in Catonsville.
He is survived by his wife Helen, and daughters Carrie Grafton and Jennifer Grafton Straughn; son in law Mark Straughn, and grandchildren Hannah, Ellie, Christian, and Annette Straughn. He was predeceased by his daughter Wendy Grafton.
Born in Baltimore to William and Alice Grafton on Sept. 5, 1945, Dave excelled in school, earned several degrees, and went on to be a well respected math teacher in the Baltimore City School system. He retired in 2003 after a very long and fulfilling career.
His love of teaching was only surpassed by his love for his family. He cherished spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends. He was an avid Orioles, Colts, then Ravens fan. Family and friends will remember him for his terrific sense of humor, infectious laugh, and infinite kindness.
A memorial will be held at Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd Catonsville, MD 21228, on Saturday Oct. 8 from 11am-12pm, followed by a prayer service at 12pm.
