Denise Schoenberg Avara

Denise Schoenberg Avara was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 16, 1964 to Frank and Stephanie Schoenberg (Nee Kovacht). She passed on October 19, 2021, at age 57. She was predeceased by her father Frank Schoenberg.

She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her devoted husband, John Avara. As well as her adoring mother, Stephanie Schoenberg and loving children, Christian Salvatore Avara, John Francis Avara and Stephen Michael Avara. Including her dear siblings, Kurt Schoenberg (Carol) and Ellen Ivey (James) and treasured nieces and nephews,  Madeleine Ivey, Jacqueline Ivey, Kari Roy, Erich Schoenberg, Colter Avara, Lindsey Avara, Matthew Avara, Stefana Avara, Shannon Avara, Joseph Ruzzi, Thomas Ruzzi, Rosie Ruzzi and John Ruzzi. Her loss will be felt by many other friends and family.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Candle Light Funeral Home by Craig Witzke, 1835 Frederick Road Catonsville, Maryland 21228 on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A memorial mass will be held at St. Augustine Church, 5976 Old Washington Road Elkridge, Maryland 21075 on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be immediately following mass.

The family has requested that those who wish to may send flowers or donations can be made to University of Maryland Medical Service Foundation (UMMS) Heart and Vascular Center .
