Donna Pollock Shurney (Age 68) of Columbia, Maryland is a follower of Jesus Christ. She went to heaven on August 8, 2021.

She is from Silver Spring, Maryland where she graduated from Montgomery Blair High School (1971). She graduated from ITT Business Institute for Fashion Merchandising (1974). She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Maryland (1981) and Master of Counselling Graduate Degree from McDaniel College.

She is married to Patrick Shurney, celebrating 25 years of faithful marriage on January 27, 2021.

Donna was a counselor at Mt. Airy Bible Church and Christian Academy, where the Shurney family was actively engaged as church members for two decades. She was known for her listening ear, witty humor, friendly demeanor and biblical wisdom. Donna was a peacemaker.  To know Donna was to make a friend for life. She was an animal lover, horse enthusiast, and known to win a medal or two at the local Howard County Fair art show.

Donna is the daughter of Addison Scott Pollock and Gladys Gibbons.  She is survived by her children, Adriene Nicole (Baltimore, MD); son Tyler Allan Buisch, and wife Sevgi (Yurtbasi) and their children Emir and Leyla (Columbia, MD); brother David Pollock and wife Annabelle, (Silver Spring, MD); sister Margaret “Peggy” Reed and husband David (Hagerstown, MD); sister Eileen Hunt and husband Brett (Mt. Airy, MD); and lifelong friend Linda Burke (Leesburg, VA); including many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will handled by Candle Light Funeral Home by Craig Witzke. A public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 6-8pm at  The Candle Light Funeral Home 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville MD 21228.  Her Celebration of Life will be held at Mosaic Christian Church, Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2pm (Exit 7 off Route 100/MARC Station, Elkridge, MD). A family/private Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery (Ellicott City, MD).
