Beloved wife of the late Julian Stanley, long-time Professor of Psychology at Johns Hopkins University and founder of the Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth and the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins. Stepmother of Susan Stanley Willhoft. Cousin of George Andrews and Maria Murray and their children and grandchildren.

Dorothy spent her career as an administrative assistant at the Fidelity and Deposit Co. of Maryland. After her retirement, she moved to Vantage House in Columbia, MD where she met her husband. Together, they enjoyed travel and entertaining friends in their apartment. Dorothy chaired the Hospitality Committee at Vantage House to welcome new residents, and she served in other volunteer capacities there as well. She was also a volunteer for many years at St. Agnes Hospital in Catonsville, MD.

Dorothy will be honored with a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center in Columbia, MD on Friday December 26 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at a later date at New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
