Edward Joseph Slunt
November 26, 1936 — October 17, 2021
Edward Joseph Slunt, devoted husband of Kathleen, beloved father of Laura Cunningham (Tom), Heather Eshleman (Ron), and Valerie Slunt. Grandfather to Shaun, Kelly, Silas, and Melanie. He is survived by his brother, Larry Frank (Barbara), sister-in-law Emily, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph W. Slunt; mother, Ruth Slunt (Coonan); and brother, Joseph B. Slunt.
Ed was an avid gardener, especially of state fair prize winning orchids and beautiful roses. He was also a life-long distance runner. Ed was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph, Loyola College, and UMBC. He retired from State of Maryland service and was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Catonsville, MD.
His gentle nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Ed’s family will be receiving visitors at the Candle Light Funeral Home Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 5pm – 7pm. His funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Chapel, Monday, October 25, 2021 at 10:00am; followed by burial at Loudon Park Cemetery.
