Elizabeth (O'Donnell) Thompson

Elizabeth (Betty) Eleanor (O’Donnell) Thompson of York, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014, at the age of 91.  Betty was the beloved wife of the late George G. Thompson Jr. for 67 years; devoted mother of Patricia E. (Thompson) Pahl and husband Wesley Pahl of Lake Wales, Florida, Diane M. Thompson (Hubbard/Peroutka) of Ellicott City, Maryland, and the late Timothy L. Thompson; grandmother of James Pahl, Wendy (Pahl) Benz, Jeremy Thompson, Dawn Hubbard, Holly (Hubbard) Kreh, Elizabeth Peroutka-Schneller, Patrick Peroutka and Timothy Peroutka; and great-grandmother of Jessica Kreh, Lauren Benz, Kristen Kreh, Connor Benz, Carly Benz, Lori Kreh and Jake Kreh.  She was the daughter of the late Anna and Emory O’Donnell and was preceded in death by siblings Beatrice Gruber, Margaret Lake, Emory O’Donnell, Jr. and Helen Lemmon.

Betty loved to garden and could get just about anything to grow.  She also liked baking, and cooking in general, dancing, shopping, and going to movies and performance theater.  She also loved to decorate and play games with her great-grandchildren, and liked to travel, especially to Hawaii and ocean cruises to the Bahamas.

A celebration of life service will be held on October 20th 2014 (9 am for family and 9:30 -11:30 for friends), followed by a memorial service at Candlelight Funeral Home by Craig Witzke, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, Maryland 21228.  Interment will follow at Lorraine Park Cemetery, 5608 Dogwood Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21207.
