Elsie L. (Hopf) Spindler

Elsie Lee Spindler, 80 of Linthicum Heights passed away on Monday, September 5th.  Lee, as she is known, was born Elsie Lee Hopf on March 3,1936 to the parents of Carl and Margaret Hopf in Baltimore, Maryland.  She married George “Bud” Spindler on April 29,1956 and were married 50 years until his passing in 2006. Loving mother of Jeffrey Spindler, Judy Petrik and Gary Spindler; Lee devoted her life to her family and especially to her grand children who brought her joy.  She was fond of speaking about her grandchildren and their accomplishments and always mentioned all 5 grandchildren whenever speaking of one particular child’s accomplishments. She would refer to her grandchildren as “My Danny, My Andrew, My Erin, My Emma and My Christopher”.

There will be a celebration of Lee’s life on Saturday, September 10th, 11:30am at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6405 South Orchard Road in Linthicum followed by a reception at Snyder’s Willow Grove.

LeeLee, as her family knew her, will be missed.  Her humor and personality was a trait that all who met her remember with fondness.  We take comfort that she is finally with her beloved husband George (PopPop).
