Francis Edward Duffy

Francis Edward Duffy, 66, died peacefully on September 30, 2022. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James S. Duffy, Sr. and Patricia Duffy (Monaghan) and lived most of his life in Maryland. Francis had a love for helping others, which led him to a 20+ year career in education. In addition to teaching, he dedicated his free time to coaching youth and high-school lacrosse.
Francis was predeceased by his father, James S. Duffy, Sr. He is survived by his adoring mother, Patricia Duffy, his loving children, Adam Duffy, Elizabeth Sothoron (Reed) and Erin deBrauwere (Dan), and his dear siblings, James S. Duffy, Jr., Andy Duffy, Timothy Duffy, Mary Rice, Patsy Duffy and Jeannine Kurtz. He was also the cherished grandfather, aka “Pop”, of Scarlett Sothoron, Keller Sothoron, and Cooper deBrauwere. Francis will be greatly missed by all of his family and his many friends.

Family and friends may gather for a viewing at Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd. Catonsville, MD 21228 on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, 6405 S Orchard Road, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090.
