Frank Raymond Lea

Retired Gunnery Sergeant Frank Raymond Lea, Jr., age 83, passed away on January 19, 2024.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank R. Lea, Sr. and Ruth Lea.  Including his beloved wife the late Linda F. Lea and brother Kenneth Lea.

He is survived by his loving children, Frank R. Lea, III, Ronald Lea (Sherri) and Elizabeth Roxanne Shields (Mark).  As well as his dear siblings, David Lea (Jane) and Peggy Michael (Christopher); adoring grandchildren Michelle Yost; Justin Lea (Kelley), Lauren Lea and great-grandson Jack Theodore Lea.  He will be greatly missed.

Frank spent his entire working career devoted to keeping our country safe.  Twenty years a Marine that included tours in Vietnam, Bremerhaven, Germany, and Rota, Spain.  He also retired from the Department of Defense as an analyst with a three-year post at our US Embassy in Athens, Greece.

He loved shooting trap and for many years enjoyed sailing with his family crew.  He followed the University of Georgia football as he was born and raised in Hapeville, GA and adopted the Baltimore Ravens making Laurel, MD his home for many years.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228 on January 31st, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm.  Private interment will take place at the Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
