Gary Charles Gray

Gary Charles Gray was born on May 10, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland.  He lived his entire life here in Maryland.  For high school, he attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute.  He then went to the University of Maryland, College Park and graduated with an industrial technology degree.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force National Guard.  He married Barbara Lee Gray on July 31, 1965.  They lived in Howard County for 48 years.  Their son, James Howard Gray was born on October 2, 1968.

Gary was a contract specialist at NASA and Social Security.  He was an active member of Bishop Cummins Reformed Episcopal Church in Catonsville.  He was on the vestry for multiple years.  Gary loved the outdoors.  He spent his weekends and free time fishing, skiing, camping, hiking, and biking.  He enjoyed catching rockfish on the Chesapeake Bay but quickly moved into deep sea fishing in the Atlantic Ocean.  The family enjoyed summer vacations together every year in Ocean City, Maryland.

Gary was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about ten years ago.  For the last few months Gary had been in Brightview’s dementia unit.  The Lord took him home on November 24, 2016.  He is survived by his wife Barbara Lee, his son Jim, his daughter –in-law Valerie, and his granddaughter Mackenzie.
