Genevieve J. (Zalegiris) Mcquay

Genevieve McQuay (nee Zalegiris), of Catonsville, passed away September 13, 2018, at the Gilcrhist Hospice in Columbia, Maryland.  She was two weeks shy of her 96th birthday. McQuay died after a fall at the Charlestown Retirement Community, where she had lived with her husband for the past 8 years.  She is lovingly remembered  by her husband of 71 years, Richard G. McQuay, of Catonsville, and daughter Katherine McQuay Lewis and grandson Alex Lewis, of Bethesda, MD. She was born in West Baltimore to Julia and Vincent Zalegiris and graduated from Western High School. She worked for the telephone company, starting as an operator and rising through management, before leaving to become a homemaker. Genevieve loved music, dancing, roosters, Christian Temple Church, dogs, mysteries, and her family. She was kind, warm, generous, smart, funny, and beautiful inside and out. Everyone who knew her loved her; she will be sorely missed.
