Dr. George Marbury Bauernschub, Jr. died peacefully on April 18, 2015 at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville after a battle with Parkinson’s  Disease. He was the son of George and Susan Bauernschub and the brother of Dorothy Bauernschub Holden. He was married to his beloved wife, the late Rosemarie Hauser Bauernschub for 60 years. He has three daughters: Mary Beth Bauernschub of Greenbelt, Diana Danaher (husband Tim) of Ellicott City and Amy Bauernschub Amy (husband Joe) of Elkridge. He has four grandchildren, Kevin Danaher, Sean Danaher, Samantha Amy and Melissa Amy.

Dr. Bauernschub was a graduate of St. Edwards, won scholarships to both Loyola High School and Loyola College. He studied medicine at the University of Maryland and specialized in pediatrics. He married Rosemarie Hauser in 1954. He was drafted, serving the Air Force as a doctor in England. After his return to Maryland, he first partnered with Dr. Ed Besson. He partnered with Dr. Willard Standiford and later Drs. Ernie Mahr and Robert Irwin to create The Pediatric Center. He was affiliated with Mercy Hospital, South Baltimore General and St. Agnes Hospital. St. Agnes Hospital inducted him into the Healing Hands Society in 2010. And, in 2011, they recognized his 50 years of service to the hospital.

He lived in Ellicott City for 48 years. He was an active member of his community , serving on both PTA and parish councils. He enjoyed practicing medicine, playing golf, watching basketball and the Orioles. Most of all he loved being the husband of Rosemarie.

Friends may call on Thursday 3-7pm at the CANDLE LIGHT FUNERAL HOME by Craig Witzke, 1835 Frederick Rd. (at Rolling Road). Catholic Prayers will be held Friday at 11 am at Our Lady of the Angels, Charlestown Retirement Community, 711 Maiden Choice Lane. Interment Private.
