George Joseph Grail, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024 after a prolonged battle with congestive heart disease. Born June 20, 1934 in Baltimore, MD to George and Jeanette (McMahon), of 9 East Randall St. He worked as a delivery driver for Skill Surgical Supply Company before a lengthy career driving long haul 18 wheelers for Montgomery Ward and Mountainside Transportation as a member of the local Teamsters. He retired in 2000.

George is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Melva. He is survived by, and lovingly remembered by: Son and Daughter-in-law, Jeff and Christine Wier (Jacsonville Beach, FL); Granddaughters Rachel (Wier) Knight (New York, NY) and Hanna Wier (St. Louis, MO); Brother Bob Grail; Sister Marie Ruebeck; as well as longtime friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

George and Mel married on May 25, 1974 and moved to their dream neighborhood of Catonsville, MD. They were active, fun loving, and loved to vacation in Ocean City, MD. They would frequently travel across the country, cruise, go on long regional drives, and visit their grandchildren in Florida. They were avid sports fans and Ravens/Colts season ticket holders with a keen knowledge of all things Orioles, Ravens, and Baltimore Colts. They were active in the Colts Corrals, and the Ravens Roost Booster Clubs. George also participated in a retired Teamsters bowling league for a number of years.

Friends and family may gather at the Candle Light Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 6:00pm-7:30pm, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228. A funeral services will be held at the Candle Light Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00am; followed by internment at Loudon Park Cemetery.
