George Edward Sebeck, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 2, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Dora Tuma Sebeck and Frank Sebeck. Due to his mother's death in childbirth, he was lovingly raised by his uncle and aunt, George and Mamie Eichler, while remaining close to his family of origin.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Margaret Keeler Sebeck; his beloved children, Michael Sebeck (Stephanie) and Nancy Love (Jerry); his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Budzynski (Stan) and Ben Love (Josie), Natalie Sebeck, and Jack Sebeck; and his dear great-grandchildren, Eliza, Madelyn, Hallie, and Beau, as well as sister Rosemary Gruver. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Elizabeth; his brothers Frank, James, and Richard, his sisters Marie Shour, Rita Coscia, Dorothy Klausing, and Dolores Harris and stepmother, Margaret Sistek Sebeck. He also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

After excelling academically at Baltimore Polytechnic High School, he distinguished himself as a midshipman in the United States Navy until he left active service to attend Duke University on an ROTC scholarship. He returned to Baltimore and completed his education at Johns Hopkins University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and, years later, a Masters in Computer Science. Notably, he pursued his passion for music by studying Classical Guitar for many years at the Peabody Conservatory.

His loyalty is unmistakable, evidenced by his lifelong dedication to Westinghouse Corporation, where he devoted himself until retirement as a Senior Engineer.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, George had a diverse array of interests,  talents,  and hobbies. He deeply loved music, art, mathematics, and computer science. He was an avid reader, an enthusiast of exercise and travel, a devoted dog lover, and a classical guitar and mandolin player, among other instruments. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and his generous spirit touched the lives of many.
