It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Grace Elizabeth Hiteshew of Catonsville at the age of 15 years 11 months. On Wednesday September 4, 2024 the Lord called Grace home unexpectedly but peacefully. She was surrounded by her family at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Grace was the cherished daughter and first child of P. Matthew and Jennifer Hiteshew (Bock), loving sister of Philip and Jacob Hiteshew, treasured granddaughter of Walter & Carol Hiteshew, Mary Bock and the late Henry “Bud” Bock, beloved niece of Luke & Susan Hiteshew, Michael & Stacy Bock, Diana & Josh LaBoy, and Zachary Bock. Grace leaves behind nine loving cousins. She will also be dearly missed by her friends, nurses, staff & teachers at Maiden Choice School.

Grace was born on October 8, 2008 with known congenital brain malformations and medical conditions. In spite of her medical complexities Gracie thrived and lived a full life with the love and care of her family. Gracie was a shining light who brought immeasurable joy into the world with her big smile, curious eyes, sweet voice and sassy humor.

Grace was one of the children of the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center from the age of 2 months on, where she challenged her providers and received the care she needed to enjoy a high quality of life. Grace was an adventurer, traveling across states to visit family. Gracie enjoyed time on the beach, sitting around the fire at camp and often attended various sports events as her brother’s biggest fan. Grace was often told she was “the most loved little girl” with the perfect cheeks for kisses and hands to hold. She will be dearly missed and live on in our hearts forever.
