Helen Ruth Burton, 89, of Linthicum, MD passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2018.
Helen was born at home on Dogwood Road on December 11, 1928.
Her aunt, Mrs. Maude Loudenslager Smith, was the mid-wife who delivered Helen. Helen was raised in Woodlawn by her parents, Ralph and Emma Loudenslager, along with her three sisters and a brother, Margaret, Betty, Ginny, and Marshall.
Helen was employed with the Tommy Tucker Ten-Cent Store while attending Catonsville Senior High, located on Bloomsbury Avenue. Following graduation from Catonsville High School in 1946, Helen worked for Commercial Credit in Baltimore City. Helen met her husband, Joseph "Joe" Burton at Carlin's Park and they later married on August 2, 1947. Helen and Joe raised four daughters and a son in Linthicum, MD.
Helen's primary passion in life was loving and caring for her family. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and ceramics; and she was an active member of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by her two sisters, Betty and Ginny; four daughters and a son, Sue, Joan, Barb, Gail, and Danny; seven grandchildren, Jason, Craig, Adam, Jessi, Joseph, Emma and Abby; and five great-grandchildren, Ben, Jake, Kyleigh, Joey, and Tucker.
