Jacqueline D. Ziegler, (nee Dees) 84, of Ft. Myers, FL and Ellicott City, MD, passed away on April 22, 2018, due to COPD. Married to the late William J. Ziegler, Sr., Jackie is survived by her son, William Joseph Ziegler, Jr. and his wife Sharon, her two grandchildren, Joseph and Maria and her sister Willa Micciche of Glen Burnie, MD.

Jackie was born in London, KY on March 25, 1934, the daughter of Robina (Adams) and Jesse Dees.  After graduating from Hazel Green High School, Jackie moved to Baltimore where she began her 30 year career at the Social Security Administration, where she served as a disability examiner and worked in professional relations.  It was there she met the love of her life, Bill, who was an attorney with the SSA.  They were married in April, 1958 and together they raised their son.  After her retirement, she became a realtor with Coldwell Banker in Ellicott City, before relocating to Ft. Myers, Florida.  She volunteered at the Columbia Pregnancy Center in Howard County and at Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers.  Jackie enjoyed vacationing and she traveled extensively throughout the world.  Her hobbies included conducting genealogical research, bowling, playing card games, water aerobics, and swimming.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 11th from 2 pm – 3 pm. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Ellicott City. Funeral Mass to follow immediately.  Interment is private at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Due to space limitations in the church, the family requests no flowers.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Little Sisters of the Poor, 601 Maiden Choice Lane, Baltimore, MD  21228-3698.
