James Leroy Brooks

On Thursday, August 11, 2023, James Leroy Brooks of Catonsville passed away in the presence of his family at the Gilchrest Hospice Center. He was born on December 10, 1958, and at the time of his passing, he was 64 years old. James was known for his exceptional carpentry skills and worked as a master carpenter. He enjoyed spending time in nature and camping with his family, particularly his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His granddaughter, Alexie, held a special place in his heart.

James is survived by his wife, Alice Brooks, his son James Braun, his daughter Jennifer Cooper, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his sisters Joan Brooks and Mary Livering (husband Dwyane), his brothers John Brooks and Robert Brooks, his aunt Nancy Dalesio (husband John), and cousins, Tina and Nicole, and William Rydzynski. He was an uncle to Melony, Dustin, William Livering, Brittany, John, and Robert Brooks.

James made a positive impact on many people and will always be remembered by those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Research Hospital in James's name.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Mark's Catholic Chapel, located at 26 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland 21228 on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:00am. James's family welcomes anyone who would like to celebrate his life to join them at this service. T
