Janet Mcfarlane

Janet Houck McFarlane, 86, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017.  She is survived by her son, Bruce and his wife Pam, her son, Brian and his wife Jenny, and her daughter, Carole and her husband Brad.  She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Matt, Andy, Nikki, Brandon, Megan and Jeremy, and her three great-grandchildren, Ella, Mason and Tyler.  She was a graduate of Western High School and married her late husband, William McFarlane in 1948.  They live in Baltimore City. Pikesville and Ellicott City during the 42 years they were married.  Janet and her husband were long time members of Milford Mill United Methodist Church where they were youth fellowship leaders and also often in charge of the coffee service after church services.  Janet enjoyed bowling, reading and traveling, especially the many family cruises she went on with the kids and grandkids.  She was also an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Ravens and the Maryland Terrapins.  She rarely missed any of their games when on TV.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan 18 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at the Candle Light Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be on Thursday, Jan 19 at 10am at the Candle Light Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Ave.  Baltimore Co, MD 21208.  Since Janet was a two time survivor of breast cancer, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
