It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jay RODNEY Hamon on 17 March 2025. Born in July of 1968, Rodney grew up in Linthicum Mayland. He graduated from Andover High School, and went on to earn a degree from the University of Maryland. Rodney joined the National Security Agency workforce in 1985 as a GGD-01 and retired as a Tier 2 Distinguished Intelligence Senior Executive. He enjoyed his career immensely, mentored many and always aimed to make positive changes through all aspects of his leadership positions, proudly serving for 38 years.
Rodney is survived by his adoring wife of over 26 years, Shelly, and his precious daughter, Jocelyn. He is also survived by his devoted sister Sharlet Jarvis, and his nieces and nephew; Brian Jarvis, Ashley (Tyrrant) Gregory, and Jennifer (Quentin) Truman. He will be missed by his many great nieces and nephews; Austin Jarvis, Aubrey and Easton Gregory and Adrienne, Addison, and Ava Truman.
Rodney was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Phyllis Jean and Arnett Hamon, and his brother-in-law Dale Jarvis.
Rodney never met a stranger. He had a larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh and sharp wit. Once you were his friend, you were a friend for life. He was the most caring, thoughtful and loving individual many had ever met. Forever loyal and always up for a good time with friends and family, Rodney loved a good meal and could plan the most extravagant dates and parties. He was always thrilled to travel and visited numerous countries for work and for pleasure with his family. He will be deeply missed by so many. Rest in peace Rodney - til we meet again.
