On May 26, 2021 Jennie Yamada Kellogg succumbed to years-long battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband of 47 years Alan, devoted daughter Anela, and beloved son Sharif.

Jennie was born in Honolulu, HI to Barry and Gertrude Yamada. She was the middle sibling between her older brother Earl, and her younger brother Ike. Jennie and Alan first met through the Baha’i community in Honolulu. Shortly afterwards, they married in 1975. Jennie and Alan started a family together. Alan joined the Foreign Service and they traveled the world from Asia to Africa as well as America. Using her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in education, Jennie taught elementary school in the USA, Mali, South Korea, Taiwan, China, India, and the Ivory Coast.

A funeral service will be held at the Candle Light Funeral Home in Catonsville, MD on May 29, 2021 at 11:00 am and will be followed by the burial at Saint John’s Cemetery in Ellicott City, MD.
