Jeremiah (Jerry) M. Brandt, born in 1931, died on November 7, 2014 at Carrol County Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Brandt, daughter Linda Brown and her husband Larry Brown, son Jim Morsberger, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jeremiah is also survived by his sister Doris Stephens, his 2 daughters by his late wife Carol Brandt, Deborah Rose and Cindy Elseth. Jeremiah was preceded in death by his 3 brothers Adam, Wilbur and Albert.
Jeremiah was raised in Baltimore and graduated from Catonsville High School and the University of Baltimore. He served honorably with the U.S. Army as a communication specialist with the Army Security Agency. He was a working man with a history of employment at Service Station, Proctor and Gamble, Ewell Dodge. He worked both in real estate sales and owned his own car sales business.
Jeremiah was an active community member. He was a charter and respected balloonist with the Chesapeake Balloon Association, 100 Club dedicated to the welfare of families of fallen police officers and AA Alarmers as well as the Elephant Club in Severna Park. He volunteered at Carroll County hospital and Carroll County Historical Society.
Jeremiah had a number of accomplishments to be proud of including servings his country in the US Army and Army Reserve during the Korean War. Jeremiah also became the 1st FAA licensed hot air balloon pilot in Maryland in the early 1970s and he was selected by the governor for the Board of Elections in Anne Arundel County.
