On October 25, 2020, Joan Irene Fulcher, age 89, after a long illness. Devoted mother of Helen Joan Schreiner and her husband Steve Schreiner; George Edward Fulcher and his wife Danielle Warren; dear sister of James E. Copperthite, loving grandmother of Michael Piotrowsky, Jana Piotrowsky, Kevin Piotrowsky, Richard Warren-Fulcher, and James Warren-Fulcher. Joan graduated from Washington-Lee High School and then went to secretarial school, after which she worked at the Pentagon. She was devoted to her family, and was a very warm, generous, and loving person. Joan loved to travel, especially out West, to National Parks, the beach, and Disney World. She enjoyed spending time in Boca Raton, Florida in the winter. She loved nature, birds, and pets, and was talented painter. Joan also enjoyed cooking, especially baking elaborate desserts. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She especially treasured visiting her grandchildren. She lived in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for several years and was very active in the Senior Center and church activities. She always had a great sense of style and loved beautiful clothes and shoes. She grew up in Arlington, Virginia and loved visiting relatives in Connecticut.
