Joan Mae Rapp, 84, of Columbia, MD, formerly of Ellicott City; a Howard County resident for over sixty years, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the University of Maryland Hospital…battling pneumonia complications following her heart surgery.
Born on February 16, 1932 in Baltimore she was the daughter of the late Edward Columbus Blann and Marie Veronica (Kelly )Blann. As a student she loved art and was a graduate of Seton High School. Having married Charles William Rapp, Sr. She enjoyed being a homemaker, worked as a bookkeeper for the Royal Oil Company and the A. Pessaro Tile Company and Maryland Tile Company working until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed decorating cakes for family events and holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles William Rapp, Sr., a sister Marie Blann-Stephens, a brother Edward C. Blann.
Surviving relatives are a daughter, Ann Marie Harris of Hillsborough, NJ and sons Edward C. Rapp & wife Marie of Greenback Tennessee and Charles W. Rapp, Jr. & wife Michele of Glen Rock, PA. Six grandchildren Meredith, Jesse, Eddie, Sarah, Meghan and Molly. Three great-grandchildren Cameron , Shawn and Jason.
