Joanne Carol (Hulsey) Kloby

Mrs. Joanne C. Kloby (nee Hulsey) passed away on August 22, 2020, after a short illness.  Joanne was born on May18, 1938 and was the oldest of three children born to Norma and Carl Hulsey in Baltimore, Maryland.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Hulsey, and will be deeply missed by her sister Deborah Reese,
In 1956, Joanne met Gerard (Jerry) Kloby while working at Gwynn Oak Amusement Park.  They were married in 1957.  Together, they raised five children  She is survived by: Diana Hufnagel, K. Julie Simermeyer, Chris Moxley, Rob Kloby, and Vinnie Kloby.  Additionally, she loved and supported her ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Joanne is also survived by her aunts Shirley Pfister and Nancy Cusic, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Western High School.  For over 29 years, Joanne worked as a part time unit secretary at St. Agnes Hospital.
A proud member of the Dundalk Sweet Adelines for over 25 years, Joanne sang bass and served on the Chorus Board many times.  Almost as much as her love of family, was her love of the chorus.  She loved singing with her "chorus sisters".
Joanne's life was a living example of a Christian life of kindness and compassion.  She will be missed by many.
Visitation will be at the Candlelight Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.  Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, August 26, at 10 a.m.. A Ceremony of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m..  Internment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD.  In light of the current pandemic, visitors are asked to wear masks and to practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Kloby has suggested that friends make a donation to the charity of their choice or to the King Fund of the Dundalk Sweet Adelines Chorus in care of Bev Bruening 5509 Hamilton Ave.  Baltimore, MD 21206.
