Joanne Knarr

Mrs. Joanne Knarr (née Mutschler), of Catonsville, MD, passed on Tuesday, September 6,2016. She was 78.

Joanne was born on September 12, 1937, to Joseph and Margaret Mutschler in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended The Catholic High School in Baltimore, MD.  She worked for many years as a bank teller for Irvington Federal and Arundel Federal Savings Bank.  She loved to work in the drive-thru and surprise her customers with her holiday themed accessories.

Joanne had a passion for her family, traveling, golf, bingo, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Baltimore Ravens.  She had many friends with whom she would travel, play sports or cards, and spend time.

Joanne is survived by her son, Charles W. Nethken III; her daughter-in-law, Michele Dalfonzo Nethken; her stepson, George Knarr III; her stepdaughter, Joann Dwyer; her brother, Joseph Mutschler; her sister, Nancy Fowler; her granddaughters, Carrie Nethken Grahl, Katie Nethken, and Carlie Nethken; and her great granddaughter, Sara Grahl.  She is preceded in death by her husband, George Knarr Jr. and her brother, Robert Mutschler.

A viewing will take place September 8, 2016 at the Candle Light Funeral Home in Catonsville, MD. Visitors are invited to come between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gilchrist Hospice Care.
