John Dayton Officer Profile Photo

John Officer, born July 1st, 1954, passed peacefully from this world at his home in Halethorpe, MD on the morning of Sunday, October 16th 2016, with family at his side. He was raised in Catonsville, MD with his brother Jeff and sister Susan, by their parents, James Officer and Thelma Officer(Prevost). He worked for many years at Globe Screen Printing, in Baltimore, MD, where he had a perfect attendance record until they closed their doors. He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth Officer and Rebecca Dillon, three granddaughters, Fiona, Brenna and Diedre Dillon, his brother Jeff Officer, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, many relatives and so very many close friends that he loved very much. John will be remembered always as loving father, grandfather, uncle and wonderful friend. He was known for having bold, quirky taste and an individualistic personality, his creativity, artistic and musical talent, and ability to tell a good/terrible joke. Most of all, we believe John will be remembered for his extraordinary kindness. His truly caring and generous nature was felt by many of us, like the feel of sunlight on our skin at the start of spring.

If you plan to make a charitable donation in John's memory, we encourage you to donate to any dog rescue or animal shelter in your area, or The Last Resort Animal Rescue, which is where he found his dog, Smoky.
