Joseph Wallace Anderson, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Wallace Anderson, Sr., a beloved husband father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend. Joseph was born on November 22, 1929, and peacefully departed from this world surrounded by his loving family on October 5, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Helen Anderson. As well as his beloved wife, Claire Scully Anderson; sister, Doris Pahr, son-in-law Donald Severe, granddaughter Erin Breland and in-laws; M. Angela & Charles Gerber, Dennis Scully, John Hughes.

Joseph is survived by his loving children, Barbara Anderson, Doreen Morsberger (David), Joanne McCleary (Steven) and Joseph W. Anderson, Jr. (Stacy). Including his siblings, Barbara Lee Pryzybylski (Lee), Susan Manning, brother-in-law Robert Pahr and sister-in-law Joan Hughes. He leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren, 11 great-children with 1 on the way and 1 great-great grandson, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. His presence within the family will forever be treasured and deeply missed.

Family and friends may gather at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd. Catonsville, MD 21228, for a visitation on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visitation will also be held at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, 711 Maiden Choice Ln.  Catonsville, MD 21228 on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am and burial to follow at New Cathedral Cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Rd.  Baltimore, MD 21229.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Charlestown Benevolent Care Fund or the Knight of Columbus St. Agnes Council #4449 .
