After a very long illness, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 Joseph Anthony Forstner passed away in his Ellicott City, Maryland home. Born to Joseph Forstner and Gloria Forstner (nee: Ruckle) on Sunday, March 30, 1947 in Baltimore Maryland; he was 75.

Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Catherine “Cathy” Forstner (nee: Schleicher); loving son, Christopher Forstner and his wife, Whitney; and his cherished grandsons, Grayson and Palmer. Joseph also leaves behind his siblings, Gloria Byrd, Richard Forstner, Debra Knop, Marianne Hays and her husband, William, Lisa Jones and her husband, Michael; sister-in-law, Judith Halsey, and her husband, Randall and brother-in-law, Roy Schleicher, and his wife, Pamela; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joe retired from the Social Security Administration in 2004 after 32 years of service. He was an Army veteran serving as an MP Sentry Dog Handler in Vietnam. He loved spending time with family, traveling, playing golf, fishing, boating, working with stained glass, and playing music.

A visitation for Joseph will be held at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. The family will also receive guests at the Candle Light Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:30am with a funeral service beginning at 11:30am.
