Lawrence "Larney" H. Bezold, I

Lawrence H. Bezold, I (born May 7, 1941) passed away on March 15, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Marie Bezold (nee Clarke); loving father to Dawn M. Engle (Brian Engle), and Lawrence H. Bezold, II (Stacey Bezold), stepfather to Ernest Reitz (Yvonne Reitz), Christine Hartge (the late Richard Hartge), and the late Eric Reitz. Loving grandfather to Jeremy Carter (Samantha Hausler), Kayla Engle (Mike Jones), Carson Bezold, Mason Bezold, Kendall Reitz, Haley Reitz, Julia Hartge, Chelsey Pratt (Daniel Pratt), and Brandon Reitz; loving great grandfather of Emmett, Jayden, Adaesyns, Jameson, and Liam.

He was a lifelong Catonsville resident. Attended St. Mark’s school and graduated from Catonsville High School. He began and ended his career in the grocery industry, with 42 years’ service at Acme Foods and 15 years' service at Whole Foods.

His sole purpose in life was to care for family and those he loved. Always placing others needs above his own. After retiring, he cherished the time he spent with loved ones including attending his grandchildren’s events, relaxing at the beach, and reminiscing about the golden age of hot rods.

A mass will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, at 10:00am at St. Mark’s Chapel located at 30 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville (21228) with a visitation on Tuesday, March 21st at Candle Light Funeral Home located at 1835 Frederick Road (21228) from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
