Lillian "Lolli" A. (Reinecke) Hart

Lillian (Lolli) A Hart, nee Reinecke, age 95, peacefully went home surrounded by many of her children and grandchildren on Friday, January 24, 2020 at her residence, St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Candlelight Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at St. Benedict Church, 2612 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, MD 21223.

Lolli, the third child of Carl C. and Lillian Reinecke, was born January 17, 1925 in Franklin, MD.  It was a large, loving family, filled with the joy of music and celebration.  The church played a significant role in Lolli’s life.  When she was in the 2nd grade at St. Agnes Parochial School, Fr. Feeley approached her and said, “take this hymnal and come play on the piano tomorrow while I eat my breakfast”. At the time she could not read or play music, and by the time she walked home that day, there were tears.  Upon seeing her child so upset, her mother asked what was wrong, Lillian told her what Fr. Feeley had said, and her mother gently said, “don’t worry, sister will help you”.  Sister was her older sister, Virginia Reinecke, the future concert pianist.  For Lolli, this was the beginning of a lifetime career as a church organist for several churches in the area, the last church being St. Leo’s RC in Little Italy. This story was always told to the great delight of her children.

Lolli’s one great desire was to someday have a large family, like the one she grew up in.  After WWII, she met the man of her dreams, Irvine G Hart, Jr. They married in May 1947, settled down in Catonsville in a house on Smithwood Ave, where they raised a family of seven children.  The Smithwood house became an integral part of family life. It was a house filled with love, warmth, hospitality, laughter, and prayer. Smithwood holds many memories, and at that core of those memories was the love that was shared for all who entered!

As the children grew up and moved on, and after the passing of her husband Irv, Lolli became involved in ministry work with the Holy Way, which brought great joy and wonderful adventures into her life.  Bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who didn’t know the love of Christ was the calling of her heart.

Lolli is survived by her seven children and spouses, Greg and Barbara Hart, Mary and Mike Davis, Anne  and Steve Reid, Helen and Mike Garland, Jennifer and Rick Cook, Michael and Vicki Hart, Katie and Joe Reymann, 21 grandchildren and their spouses, and 32 great-grandchildren with the 33rd on the way.  Siblings, Harriet Reinecke Connolly Deegan, Maria Reinecke Garvey, Bobbi Reinecke and husband Sam Prestianni, and sister-in-law Phyllis Reinecke, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lolli was preceded in death by her husband, Irvine G. Hart, Jr, grandson Patrick Reymann, several siblings and sibling-in-laws: Carol Reinecke and Norman Halvorsen, Virginia Reinecke, Tom Reinecke, William Connolly, Joe Deegan, and Joseph Garvey, Helen Hart and James Burns, Nellie Hart and Jimmy Spahn, Betty Hart and Tom Maher, niece Meg Connolly Stratton, and nephews Francis Spahn and Tommy Maher.
